Our Story

Formed in 2005 as a program of the South Bend Regional Chamber, the Young Professionals Network (YPN) South Bend seeks to develop, connect and empower individuals ages 21-39 in the South Bend Region. As the premier young professionals (YPs) group in the area, YPN's role is to be a facilitator and resource in bringing together young professionals to grow connections, build relationships, showcase the community and contribute to the future of the South Bend Region.

Our events are designed to give young professionals the opportunity to connect with other YPs, grow professional connections and relationships, contribute to the South Bend Region's future and make a name among the area's talented workforce. How will YPN South Bend accomplish this? By developing, connecting and empowering smart, innovative and creative individuals to one another, resources and business leaders.

Leadership

YPN leadership is comprised of young professional volunteers and a Chamber liaison who meet regularly to plan events and develop content for our monthly enewsletters to spread the word about this organization and all this community has to offer. Meet our Advisory Council, the leadership of YPN, who are committed to investing in the future of young professionals in the area and making this a region that we hope you'll continue to call home for many years to come.

It's a great time to be young. And it's an even better time to be in the South Bend Region! So what are you waiting for? Sign up for our enewsletter, register for our next event and get involved!

FAQs

Q. What is YPN South Bend?
A. The Young Professionals Network (YPN) South Bend is a personal and professional development program in the South Bend Region that encourages young professionals (YPs), ages 21-39, to take ownership in the community. As a program of the South Bend Regional Chamber, YPN is an outlet for the next generation of leaders to enhance their potential to reach their life goals and enrich this community.

Q. Why should I get involved with YPN?
A. If you are new to the South Bend Region, want to expand your professional network, become more connected with this community or simply want to experience everything this community has to offer, we encourage you to check out one of our events. We are a group of peers who work and play in the South Bend Region and who share common interests and aspirations. Come to our next event, and you’ll see why you want to get involved.

Q. Who is eligible to attend YPN events?
A. All YPs (ages 21-39) are welcomed and encouraged to attend our events.

Q. Does my company need to be a South Bend Regional Chamber member for me to attend events?
A. Nope. Chamber member or not, YPN is open to anyone. Our only requirement is that you are between ages 21-39! However, because YPN is a program of the SBR Chamber, priority will be given to those venues that are Chamber members to host events.

Q: Who should I contact if I want to become more involved in YPN?
A: For more information about YPN, contact Briana Stiner at the Chamber at 574.400.4010. She can provide you with further information and answer all your questions about YPN.

Q. How can I become a member of YPN?
A. Since YPN does not have membership dues (right now) or technically membership requirements, there’s no “joining” at all really. Sign up for our enewsletter and “like” us on our Facebook page, or simply show up to our next event or activity. It’s that easy!

Q. How much does it cost?
A. Getting involved with YPN does not cost you a thing. However, a majority of the YPN events cost a minimal fee and those fees are listed on the events’ description so you’re aware of the costs before registering or attending.

Q. What’s included in my $15 fee for a Power Lunch?
A. The $15 fee includes lunch, beverages and a presentation.

Q. If I registered for a Power Lunch or some other paid event, and can no longer attend, can I get a refund?
A. Unless otherwise noted, cancellations must be received at least 24 hours in advance of event day and time for a 100% refund. If you need to cancel, contact Briana Stiner at 574.400.4010.

Q. How does the leadership of YPN work?
A. YPN is managed by the SBR Chamber and a volunteer Advisory Council that strives to promote our mission to develop, connect and empower young professionals to showcase how great it is to live, work and play in the South Bend Region. Additionally, there are teams of volunteers who plan events and promote YPN and work to further enhance the mission of YPN. If you are interested in getting involved, or you know a YP who would like to get involved, please contact Briana Stiner at 574.400.4010.
