Health Talent Alliance Launches Employer Job Forecasting Survey to Strengthen Regional Healthcare Workforce

The Health Talent Alliance of Northern Indiana (HTA), a regional, employer-led collaborative focused on strengthening the healthcare workforce pipeline across North Central Indiana, has reached a key milestone with the official launch of its employer job forecasting survey.
This effort marks the first major implementation step of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) framework. The survey will gather real-time data from healthcare employers to better understand current and future workforce demand, including hiring needs, critical roles, and required skills and credentials.
Healthcare employers across the region are actively participating in this survey, including Oaklawn, Goshen Health, and South Bend Clinic, among others. Their engagement ensures that the data collected reflects real workforce needs and will directly inform education, training, and career pathway development.
The launch of the survey has been made possible through grant support from the Everwise Credit Union Foundation, whose investment supports the data and research infrastructure necessary to guide this work.
“Launching this employer job forecasting survey is a foundational step in building a more coordinated and responsive healthcare talent pipeline,” said Ryan Boeskool, executive director of the HTA. “By working directly with employers to define workforce needs, we can better align training programs, expand access to career opportunities, and strengthen the long-term sustainability of our regional healthcare system.”
HTA invites additional healthcare employers across the region to participate in the survey and contribute to this collaborative effort. Organizations interested in sharing their workforce needs and helping shape the future of the regional healthcare talent pipeline are encouraged to contact HTA to get involved.Data collected through the survey is confidential and will be reported in aggregate. The annual report will be used to identify workforce gaps, inform the design of targeted training and professional development programs, and support the development of clear, accessible career pathways for students, job seekers, and current healthcare workers.
Ultimately, HTA aims to increase the number of individuals entering and advancing within healthcare careers, improve retention across the workforce, and reduce the time required to fill critical roles. This effort will help ensure that healthcare providers across the region have access to the skilled workforce needed to deliver high-quality care to the communities they serve.
