Saint Mary's College Ranked in U.S. News & World Report & Money Magazine

Published Tuesday, September 10, 2019

Saint Mary’s College announced today (Sept. 9) that the school received national rankings from U.S. News and World Report and Money Magazine.

Saint Mary’s ranked #102 in U.S. News' annual ranking of top liberal arts colleges in the country in the organization’s annual survey of 1800 colleges nationwide. U.S. News ranks campuses on numerous factors, including economic and ethnic diversity, awarding of merit aid, graduation rates and the number of classes with fewer than 20 students.

The College also ranked #31 in the best small colleges and #149 of 500 overall in Money Magazine’s annual list of “best colleges for the money ranking,” based on college quality and affordability. Money ranks colleges and universities on 19,000 data points.

“While rankings are only one measure of a college’s success, our students, faculty, and staff are pleased to see Saint Mary’s recognized as a premier destination for young women seeking a personal, challenging, and supportive learning environment,” said Nancy Nekvasil, Interim President of Saint Mary’s College. “We’ve practiced our core values of learning, community, faith/spirituality, and justice for 175 years, and we look forward to many more years devoted to the development of strong women.”

Known for its exceptional business, communication studies, math, nursing, psychology, and science curriculums, Saint Mary’s serves nearly 1,600 students in more than 50 academic programs. The College offers nationally accredited academic programs in social work, music, teacher education, chemistry, and nursing.

Earlier this year, the College launched a multi-year facilities upgrade for the 140-acre campus to uphold the school’s highest health-safety standards, increase overall energy efficiency, and for enhancements for the students, faculty, staff, and other community members who make use of the facilities.
