Transpoís FREE K-12 Summer Travel Program Starts June 1

Published Wednesday, May 29, 2019

The South Bend Public Transportation Corporation’s (Transpo’s) free K-12 Summer Travel Program starts Saturday, June 1. The program provides unlimited travel for K-12 students the months of June, July and August.

As a result of last summer’s success, Transpo has partnered with the Michiana Area Council of Governments and the Interurban Trolley to extend the free travel for K-12 students in Elkhart and Goshen. The two transit systems connect via the jointly operated Yellow Line running between Transpo’s Mishawaka Transfer Center and downtown Elkhart.

To be eligible for the free travel on any Transpo or Interurban Trolley fixed routes, students just need to show their valid student identification card each time they board a bus. For homeschooled students or those who attend a school that does not issue an ID card, please visit Transpo’s Information Booth at South Street Station, office located at 1401 S. Lafayette Blvd. in South Bend or contact 574.232.9901.

For the latest information and places to travel on Transpo and the Interurban Trolley this summer, follow SBTranspo on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
