While the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) kicks off National Small Business Week on May 5th in Washington, D.C., small business owners and entrepreneurs around the nation will celebrate with local and regional events.
SBA Indiana heads to South Bend May 10th for a very special workshop on a premier small business contracting program--the SBA 8(a) Certification Program. The 8(a) business development program is designed specifically for small businesses interested in federal contracting and can provide a tremendous boost to their government sales. Registration is required. Interested participants can register online at www.bit.ly/8aSouthBend.
According to District Director Stacey Poynter, the goal of all Small Business Week events is to help more small business owners become aware of SBA resources and services available to them throughout Indiana.
"We want more entrepreneurs to think of the SBA as their go-to resource for each stage of their business life-cycle.” Poynter said. “We offer expert advice, access to capital, contracting opportunities and more to help small businesses succeed. Through our partnerships, these resources are available in locations convenient to the entrepreneur. By providing small business resources, we can continue to power the engine of the state and local economies.”
