Who are the 2022 Michiana Forty under 40 recipients? While we’ve promoted their names and employers, it’s time to get to know them better. This year saw 172 nominations, which are scored and evaluated by a 10-member selection committee. A recognition video will be released on June 24 giving you another look into honorees and their insights, while the South Bend Tribune’s special Michiana Forty under 40 supplement will be included in the June 26 issue.
Raquel Buari, 34
VP of Compliance | Four Winds Casinos
A Global Gaming Business magazine 40u40 recipient, Raquel is a licensed attorney in Michigan and one of a few women who holds a director position within Four Winds. A proud Pokagon, she is devoted to her job, family and community.
Shelby Cook, 27
Director of Operations | Momentum Marketing Consultants
Shelby worked with 212 Media as an intern while attending Grace College. It was during that time she worked on the Cultivate Food Rescue account, drawing national attention for the nonprofit, including coverage on The Rachel Ray Show.
Paige Corbalis, 30
Broker Owner | Brick Built Real Estate
While she started her career in property management as a leasing agent, Paige changed careers in 2018 becoming a realtor, winning sales awards and top agent recognition. Today, this cheer coach owns her own real estate company.
Mallory Edmondson, 36
Program Director, Dental Hygiene Education | IU South Bend
The LaPorte resident completed her Doctorate of Education in Health Professions in 2021. Before turning to education, Mallory spent many years as a dental hygienist and even co-authored a book with one of her professors.
Nick Eltzroth, 29
Manager of Engineering | Midwest Energy and Communications
When not managing and designing the electrical system for new and improved lines, Nick serves as president of the Michigan Electric Cooperative Operators Association, umpires for high school baseball and is active in his church.
Michael Fenech, 34

Born in South Bend and dog parent to Vito, Michael serves on the executive committee of the Child and Parent Services (CAPS) of Elkhart, which strives to ensure that every child lives a life free from abuse and neglect. He is a specialist in mergers and acquisitions.
Amanda Fox, 38
4th Grade Teacher | Elsie Rogers Elementary School (PHM School Corp.)
A lover of math, Amanda was selected earlier this year as one of the national award winners for the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST), the highest honor from the U.S. for K-12 teachers in that subject.

Hand, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon | South Bend Orthopaedics
A partner at South Bend Orthopaedics, the Niles resident participates in medical mission trips, leads regional cadaver dissection courses, and routinely lectures and presents on his broad and rewarding practice. He is also a two-time South Bend Tribune Readers Choice winner.
Lindsay Gehrke, 38
Elementary Guidance Counselor | South Central School Corp.
Lindsay is CPI certified and part of the Crisis Response Team at South Central Elementary. She also secured an $86,000 grant to bring the “Too Good for Violence/Drugs” program to the school, while also presenting the program to all of the classes.

Before he was 30 years old, Patrick was the On-Site Construction Administrator for McCourtney Hall, the new 200,000-square-foot research facility at Notre Dame. T-ball coach on the side, he also passed all seven tests for Registered Architect on the first try!

A mentor, instructor and a member of multiple societies, the periodontist, who grew up in New Carlisle, owns Elkhart Periodontics and Implants LLC. Kelly is married with two children.

She is also the CEO and founder of Redgina Hill Consulting, LLC, a firm that cultivates diversity and inclusion within businesses and organizations. Redgina is board president of Transformation Ministries and board member for Southold Dance Theatre.

In 2021, Gage brokered over 75 transactions with a total deal value of more than $30 million. He is also a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Michigan and a Leadership South Bend-Mishawaka Class 47 Signature Program graduate.

This self-made man was instrumental in growing Cruiser RV from a small family-owned manufacturer to a larger player in the RV industry. John also owns many design patents, including the King Bed Slide System and the Full Belly Storage System.
Ashley Jordan, 37
Director of Acts of Service | Community Foundation of Elkhart County
She started as a logistics manager at Lippert and later became part of the company’s effort to promote volunteerism within the company and other partners. Ashley joined the Community Foundation of Elkhart County (CFEC) when Lippert passed the Acts of Service effort to CFEC.

At Specialized Staffing, Emma helped with the design of new, high-volume recruiting programs using cutting-edge technology, social media and word-of-mouth referrals, A former member of the Indiana National Guard, she also serves on the board at the Greater Elkhart Chamber.

In 2020, the piano professor at Saint Mary’s College, was named the Fischoff Chamber Music Academy Director establishing master classes and workshops to prepare the next generation of musicians. She strives to make classical music accessible to the entire community.

Bord and raised in South Bend, she is one of the lead organizers of West Side Wednesday, bringing more people to the west side of South Bend. She has also served as board president of Rebuilding Together, while still in her ‘20s.

Board certified in family medicine, he is medical director at the South Bend Healthlinc Clinic, serving those patient populations with the greatest needs. He specializes in addiction medicine and HIV care while also teaching family medicine to residents at Memorial Hospital.

Beyond her extensive career as a nurse, Kenlyn has been instrumental in enhancing workflows At Spectrum for lung cancer screening to increase the number of people screened. The program she helped to implement is saving lives with early detection.

A member of the education committee of the 100 Black Men of Greater South Bend, Cordell, who also plays violin, developed an initiative to equip African-American male high school students with essential tools and skills to prepare them for the real world.

Possessing a never-ending source of energy, he started the Mishawaka Robotics Program and created the new class, Computer Integrated Manufacturing. Ben recently received grant funding to further research STEM and best practices—working with 10 middle schools on the project.

He manages MTI’s Contract Friction Welding business and is the youngest member of the company’s leadership team. In 2019, Jacob’s business unit partnered with the South Bend Re-Entry program to provide a second chance to incarcerated men willing to make positive change.

His father also taught and was a principal. Ryan, a Milken Educator Award recipient, developed a school-wide instructional program focused on small group learning and the five core domains of literacy to bolster academic excellence. Walt Disney is rated “A.”
