The Challenge

The Business Analyst is responsible to sample, analyze and / or test under GMP rules raw materials, intermediates and finished products applying validated methods, for statistical analysis of raw data, analysis of results for compliance to product specifications with communicating & recording results on batch records &/or product release sheets, supports local and global DSM production, shipping/receiving and quality control to ensure Quality System requirements (ISO, GMP, HACCP, etc.) are maintained, for writing &/or revising procedures related to work processes, methods, equipment maintenance and calibrations, for leading investigation, follow up, resolution and communication of analytical questions and troubleshoot instrumentation issues, for making decisions on daily results & activities, apply decision making to determine & perform next steps with change to daily schedule, advising appropriate persons of situation, for routine and investigative production equipment sanitation & validations, including swabbing/plating, chemical concentration verifications and for equipment maintenance procedures and calibrations, documenting within SF360, coordinating internally and externally depending on equipment.

 

This is a 1st or 2nd shift position. First Shift hours 8am-5pm; Second shift hours 3pm-1130pm.

 

Job Requirements:

The Position

  • Perform enzyme assay, chemical, physical and other laboratory procedures as required by Product Release Reports, working closely with proficient personnel.
  • Record results on PRR and report results & observations
  • Enter standard and control test results and other relevant data into JMP computer system, DSM Global control spreadsheet for monthly reporting.
  • Coordinate sampling of final packaged product with production personnel’s schedule
  • Prepare retain samples in accordance with standard practice or agreement with principal and retest when necessary or when requested.
  • Sample incoming raw materials according to GMP and SHE policies.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and current laboratory notebooks
  • Inspect plant for cleanliness and safety
  • Prepare small laboratory blends as necessary
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment with reporting in SF360
  • Clean and organize laboratory, including maintenance of laboratory inventory for ordering/ stock supply.
  • Coordinate with SLD Lab Delft, inventory maintenance of Substrates, Standards and Controls for DSM global methods.
  • Perform other assorted duties related to Quality Control as assigned by the QA/QC Manager
  • Keep the workplace tidy and operate according to Quality, Environment, Safety and Health procedures and instructions.

 

The Ideal

  • Knowledge of quality systems & GMP programs.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to details are important.
  • Knowledge of FSSC 22000, SF360 modules, HACCP, and product/ production processes.
  • A Bachelor’s degree with major studies in chemistry, biology, microbiology or biochemistry.
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior relevant experience preferred.
