Renewable Energy
- Ultium plans to source 100% renewable electricity at sites in the United States by 2025, including the potential New Carlisle EV battery manufacturing facility. Ultium will buy Renewable Energy Credits, increasing their monthly utility bills, to support demand for more renewable energy resources which allows utility companies to continue investments in clean energy.
- GM's goal is to be carbon neutral by 2040, plan to source 100% renewable electricity at sites in the United States by 2025 and pledged $50 million to help ensure communities most affected by climate change are not left behind.GM has been recognized:

- 2022 JUST Capital top 50 – ranked 2nd in industry for minimizing environmental impact.

Zero Waste Initiative
- Ultium is committed to sustainable circular economy practices (recycling) and supports the responsible utilization of resources.
- 95% of battery manufacturing scrap can be recycled, with a goal of 100%. Ultium has partnerships with recycling organizations throughout the United States.
